The biggest excitement in my life is that about 5 weeks ago I got gastric bypass surgery and quit smoking. I have no vices left, I can't even drink for 5 more months. I'm still on leave from work, as I'm milking the whole 6 weeks, but I have to go back next monday (ick). So far it seems to be working well, but I'm not weighing myself all the time, as its just creepy. I'm actually ecstatic about the quit smoking part--I don't smell anymore and is soooo much cheaper.

So i start out the day by nailing a parked van's mirror with my (work) van's mirror. Nobody around the van will answer their door, so HR tells me I have to call the cops and make a report--landing me with a $90 ticket (Merry F'ing Christmas). Then while the cops are there, the owner finally comes out of one of the houses I knocked on the door of!!!!! Woulda been a lot nicer to just give him my insurance info and not get a goddamn ticket.

Doesn't it always happen....

I go for late night espresso (as I am a night schedule type girl)...at the um...'sleeping impairment' coffee haus on high street, and end up talking to some guy for awhile...yes, yes, frightening prospect if you are familiar with the establishment, but guy was cool. and cute. and a really good kisser (a lost art in my mind).

So for the first time when asked for my phone number by a prospective suitor met there, I give it, and am happy about it.

Of course, he doesn't call (goddamn it).

I am back for late night coffee a couple of weeks later, on a break from work..and there he is again...asks me for phone number again, says he lost it (which i'm perfectly willing to believe as it makes me feel like i'm not such a loser). I give again...after a week, still no call, but then we both work full time, both in school...i'm busy too, but still... I can't help thinking that if he were really interested he'd call.

So last night I go in there, about a week after i saw him last, and he's there again, i'm on break from work..its 2:30a and he has to be up early for work, so its a quick convo, and then we both walk out towards cars...He walks me to my car, and then after brief goodbye, he leans down for quick kiss...even brief it was good (him to, he made the noise). But i still don't have confidence he'll call.

I don't have that utter arrogance as i did from youth that he'll call. I wish he would. Damn.
